The Student Enterprise Conference 2021

NACUE Student Enterprise Conference March 2021

At this year’s online conference, NACUE gathered together over 20 industry experts, current and aspiring entrepreneurs, along with over 450 students registered for NACUE’s student enterprise conference, #SEC2021!

The 3-day conference was a joyous celebration of young entrepreneurship and a brilliant showcase of innovation. For the first time, #SEC2020 opened in a virtual space on Hopin, in collaboration with Aston University, De Montfort University and University of Westminster.

The conference was opened by NACUE’s very own Yani Vladimirova, NACUE’s Enterprise Engagement Manager who thanked Aston University, De Montfort University and University of Westminster, who have collaborated closely to bring the NACUE Student Enterprise Conference 2021 to you - the next generation of innovators, change-makers and future thinkers. This perfectly set the tone for the conference’s theme of ‘Shaping the future together’.

#SEC2021 was full to the brim with inspiring talks, panel discussions, 1:1 mentoring sessions with our expert Jacques de Cock, exciting NACUE VC Investment Challenge and networking opportunities. You could feel the inspiration and see the creativity it encouraged. After 12 years of Student Enterprise Conferences, #SEC2021 stimulated that same passion NACUE’s conferences have become known for.

•  Inspirational talks from over 20 speakers including a session on ‘25 tips on what YOU can do next’ from Vikesh Mistry, DMU Enterprise, a panel discussion on ’The Student Entrepreneur Journey: 5 Things I Know Now and Wish I Knew’ from Creative Enterprise Centre, University of Westminster, and a fireside chat with a world record breaking adventurer to green tech, Leigh Purnell, startup founder from BSEEN, Aston University.

•  Start-ups! Inspiring and insightful discussion with AC BIODE, Post Carbon Lab, Spyras and Uni Sim on “Creating our possible future - What the new world looks like and how to seed alternative futuristic businesses”.

We are pleased to announce the winner and runners-up teams of the NACUE VC Investment Challenge which was running throughout the weekend. HUGE congratulations to: Shadra Khatri from London College of Fashion, Marika Novicka, University of Westminster, Nayaab Mahomed, De Montfort University and Katy Finch from Loughborough University.
