Helen Higson, Aston Business School PRO Vice Chancellor
Helen Higson completed her first degree in English Literature from Newnham College, Cambridge University and followed this up with an MA with the Open University and a PhD at Birkbeck College, London University. She has worked in Higher Education since 1983, first at Southampton University and then at Aston. She is currently Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Aston University where she leads on international relations, work placements and employment, outreach and Schools Liaison. An Associate Attorney at Avidity IP, Gemma handles a range of Intellectual Property (IP) issues predominantly in the fields of Engineering and Chemistry. Gemma graduated from Durham University with an MSci degree in Mathematics and Chemistry, and later with a PGC in Management from the University of Bath.
John Foong
John Foong joined Google in 2006 and has worked in AdWords marketing and intelligence, Search Quality Management and Operations and, since 2009, as the Head of Small and Mid-Market Sales for Google's Cloud Computing products in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Here he has grown a multi-channel, multi-segment sales team to market and sell Google's flagship enterprise product Google Apps - a fast-growing start up within Google. John's expertise lies in understanding business models and disruptive technologies, and forming high-performing teams to meet opportunities as fast as possible.
